J orchestra solo

Here is J playing a solo at his orchestra concert last week. He learned this a few months ago and hadn't practiced it since. I was glad that all of the soloists made a fair amount of mistakes, not just him. Way to be brave, Jayke!

Flying Butterflies

Jayke had an orchestra assignment to create and play a song. This is what he came up with.

He has come a long way since he started playing the violin. He started orchestra at a public school in October. He only had 1 1/2 semesters of "formal" orchestra class and was put in a class with students having 4 1/2 semesters. His orchestra teacher said he was just as good as all the rest of the students. I attribute his success to the strong foundation he received from my wonderful friend, Kristin Jansen. Combine his love of music with his love of performing/lack of stage fright and I am sure he will do great things with his talent! I sure love this boy!
