Slide
Yesterday V had a very late nap. She fell asleep on the way home from church at 4:30, which meant she was awake all.night.long! Ryan and I decided to spend the night dreaming on estately.com while we let her get her energy out. (BTW, we did find an awesome house with a hidden room off the master bedroom. Suddenly, a hidden room has now become a requirement in my future house. :-) Check it out. She kept climbing up on my lap and then sliding down my nightgown. It was so funny, but so tiring. Since all the other kids were asleep and couldn't see the naughtiness of what we were about to do, we turned our couch into a slide for V. Not surprisingly, she loved it. This kid needs a slide at home!
Jayke's end-of-year violin performance
This post was written almost 2 months ago. Oops! Finally got the videos uploaded so I could actually post this.
The end of the school year has passed. Wow! I cannot believe it is already gone. It really seems as though Ryan just started his D2 year (second year of dental school). I have no idea where this last year went!
As a little end-of-year bragging, Jayke's violin/viola class had a little informal presentation for the parents. I am so proud of Jayke for how much he has learned in such a short amount of time. He began on the violin a little over a year ago, not even knowing how to properly hold his violin. Thanks to a dear, sweet friend of mine, he was able to have 1-on-1 lessons for a few months last spring before life happened and we couldn't fit it into our schedule anymore. I was thrilled when his school started offering a violin class this spring semester and we could easily just fit his class right into our schedule.
I only have a couple songs recorded. Silly me, I just sat there so proud that the class actually sounded decent (and no cringing moments like I was expecting), that I completely forgot to record the beginning songs until I looked over and saw another parent recording it. Oops! Oh, well. Here are the few songs that I actually got.
At the end of the school year, Jayke's teacher told him that his 1/2 size violin was officially too small for him. He looked so huge playing that tiny little violin! (It is getting more and more obvious that he is just growing like a weed now! He out-eats everyone at every meal, his feet are bigger than mine, he sleeps for hours on end, and is almost as tall as me.) Thanks to another wonderful friend, we have a full-size violin waiting for us in August. What would I do without such amazing friends in my life!?

E's cub scouts
This month for E's cub scout meeting they were making paper airplane launchers. E had a blast! He brought his own hammer and knew exactly how to use it without breaking his fingers. He even knew how he wanted to fold his airplane for proper "wind-breaking" qualities. He was pretty excited when he saw how far his plane flew. He was even more excited when he realized that his plane went farther than a dad's plane!
The only reason his plane stopped where it did was because it hit the wall. He came home a happy boy that night and couldn't stop bragging about his awesome plane-folding skills.

I seriously have the best husband ever. Not only did he make me a checkered rolling pin for making ravioli,
but he also makes amazing Halloween costume accessories. (He even lets me record him wearing the accessories.)
He just started his 3rd year of dental school. That means he is in the school clinic working on live patients the entire year. It also means he gets to choose the locations for his 4th year rotations only 5 months from now! Time is going by so fast! I am so thankful that it is going so quickly but at the same time I freak out that I am missing so much of life as it just flies by. Before I know it, we will be selling our house and moving to a brand new city and state, just starting out our lives and (finally) finished with school.
