Another LONG weekend

Yesterday we had our 2nd hydro seeding job. It was out in Johnson Ranch. We got up shortly after 5am, b/c we scheduled it at 7am. We didn't get out of there until 10. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. It's too bad we didn't get pictures of the biggest mess. Let's just say that my van looked like it had manure all over the front of it. I'll have Ryan give all the details of the day later. It was a really good morning, though. The lady was really nice, VERY patient, and helpful.

After the job, I went to an educator's conference put on by APS. It was at the Arizona Science Museum. Best of all, it was free, except $3 parking. I got tons of free stuff, mostly pencils, pens, and paper. There were also a lot of resources for me to use with home school. I went to a couple of the professional development classes, although I wasn't able to get in all the classes I wanted. One class was really fun. It was a science lesson based on the 5-E model/inquiry. We were discovering properties of water/surface tension. The second one was so boring. I almost walked out of it. The teacher literally read a PowerPoint for the entire hour! Ugh! I was glad to finally see the science museum. I had heard a lot about it and wanted to go, but didn't want to pay for the whole family to do just to see it. It was a lot different than I expected, but it was still good. I would not want to pay full price to go, though. The Narnia exhibit was a little bit of a let-down for me, though. I was hoping it would be a lot better. Yeah, it was cool, but I guess I was not obsessed with the movie like some people are. It had all the original costumes and original items from the movies, but like I said, I am not obsessed with the movie. I would have enjoyed it more if I was obsessed. I think the best part of the exhibit was the catapult, not an original from the movie, but there was an employee setting it off every 30-60 second just to show how a catapult works. I did find out that b/c we have a Bank of America account, we get into the museum the first weekend of every month for free. All we have to do is show our bank card. Nice, huh? That will be fun for our family to do together sometime.
