Summer is almost over!

With the weather spoiling us last week, I decided it was time for us to finally venture out of the house for the first time in months. The evenings were actually below 100F! Don't get me wrong, it was still hot! It was, at least, manageable once the sun went down. We pulled out the roller blades and hockey sticks and headed to the park. Thankfully, the park wasn't very busy and we had the entire basketball court to ourselves.

The kids had so much fun. Even Kate, who took a hard fall and bruised her tailbone, enjoyed herself. There was a lot of complaining about tailbone pain for days afterwards, though.  The kids can't wait to go back and do it again!

While the older kids were playing hockey, I took V around to the pond to see the ducks. With it being so late in the day, we didn't see very many of them. V still was enthralled by them! All she did was exclaim in her little grunting jabbers and point to all the different ducks as they swam by. She was a happy girl.

I tried to get her to sit down so she would be still enough for me to get her face in a picture and all I got was this. She just wanted to run and show me all the ducks in the water. She is such a cute kid. I can't believe how fast she is growing up!
