Poor Kate

Kate has been sick for a couple weeks now. She's had a runny nose and night coughing. Just a couple days ago, she started getting a fever, too. And her cough got really bad. We noticed that her breathing was really rapid and shallow. She woke up about 5am today and she was burning! She could barely breathe and couldn't stop coughing. Good night pediatrics was already closed and the urgent care/family doctor were not open yet. Ryan decided to take her to the ER. He spent most of the morning there-missing his classes. The Dr. said she had an upper respiratory infection and the x-rays for pneumonia looked 'questionable'. He said she might have an early case of pneumonia, so he gave her antibiotics just in case. R said K was making everyone at the hospital laugh, true to herself. She is definitely R's daughter! Both R and K love to have people happy and love to make people laugh. (Remember R's story of grumpy bear? If not, you'll have to have R tell you about it.) So now both of my cuties are in bed sleeping, trying to make up for getting only 4 hours of sleep last night. Poor guys!

Here are some pics of her silliness. One of the nurses gave her a sheet of stickers to play with while she was having the x-ray done. They had to go into the waiting room after the x-ray until the Dr. was ready to see her. She put a sticker right over her mouth so she couldn't talk. R said all the old people around her in the waiting room were just laughing at how cute she was.
