While we were dropping the kids off at school, some construction workers were busily blocking off the street, effectively blocking us in the Dobson Ranch community. If you know that community, you'll understand my predicament. The roads circle around the neighborhood and not a single one goes straight to a main road. Knowing we had a doctor's appointment in a few minutes, I had to figure out how to get out of the neighborhood fast. I took a few turns and remembered seeing a road exit the neighborhood just north of our normal entrance and within three turns I was out of the neighborhood. When Aimee saw how fast I found my way out she exclaimed, "Mom, you're COOL!"
She made me smile.
Then while we were at the doctor's office she heard my tummy growl. She started laughing and said, "Mom, your tummy almost sang Home on the Range."
I busted up laughing.
I find Aimee's comments so funny sometimes. Most people don't get to hear much of it because she is so timid around new people, but when she's around our family she is such a crack up!
I know it doesn't show it in this picture, but I am just in love with her hair. It is finally mid-back length and brown. Oh, how I love brown hair! (Can you tell I was born blonde?) Her hair, untended, is a mess and all over the place. But, when we are able to get her hair out of her eyes, it is wispy and gorgeous!
Her favorite thing to do while everyone else is at school is watch the PBS channel. (Notice the remote in her hands?) She loves watching Super Why and Word World. She learned all of her letters just by watching these two shows. I used to be completely against having the kids watch TV, but now that the shows are a little more educational, I really don't mind as much. It also helps to occupy her a little while I am taking care of V.
Aimee is such a blessing in our family! We certainly love having her around.
Her stats from her 4 year old check-up:
Weight: 40lbs on the dot.
Height: 42.5inches
