Mantis

This past week, Jayke found a baby praying mantis near our back porch. The boys decided to play with it and let it crawl everywhere. 

 It was really scared on their hands and would quickly run up to their shoulders.

 When it got right behind their ears, it just stopped and looked around.

 I was almost afraid it would crawl down Jayke's shirt.

 Ethan decided to have a turn next. It crawled all around his shirt.

It liked behind Ethan's ear, too. 

After they had played with it for a while, I was afraid the kids were going to squish it, so I made them drop it into my garden. It has been years since we have seen a praying mantis in our yard and this is the second one this week. I'm glad we are finally "growing" fun bugs in our yard again!
