We just acquired a new-to-us couch last weekend. A couch that can actually fit our entire family on it. A couch that doesn't swallow keys and wallets from our visitors.
The kids love it and can't get enough of it. They are so excited about it that some of them forgot their couch manners and had to be grounded from it for the day. :-( They are all quickly learning that jumping on the couch will no longer be tolerated. Not like it ever was, but there were not consequences for it other than an upset momma.
I love how connected it makes us feel. I can actually see everyone else without having to turn completely to the side. We probably won't even need to bring the kitchen chairs in the family room when the Home Teachers come over. I really enjoy the fact that someone can sleep on the couch and other people can still fit on it at the same time.
I loved it even more this week when I found an extra early riser asleep on it mid-afternoon.
It literally saved us from the afternoon grumpies we were dealing with since the minute she woke that morning.
If you are ever on our side of the world, stop by and try it out. Although, with the heat you might have to wait until November. Otherwise you might melt. Like the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz. Sometimes I feel like her in the summer. I just wish someone would dump a bucket of water on me and put me out of my misery. ;-) I need a vacation from the heat and the heat hasn't really even started yet. :-(
